Ramsar Wetlands in the US and Facebook
As a followup to World Wetland Day, here is a quick list of all of the Ramsar Wetlands of International Importance found in the United States. Thanks to the US FWS for putting this together!
Its only been a few weeks since the Facebook Wetlands game developed by The Center for Serious Play at the University of Washington Bothell was released, but I haven't been able to try it out. The Facebook app page doesn't load for me, at least. Has anyone else tried it?

Voices From The Bayou: An Oral History
I recently came across this article, Retiree devoted life to state's wetland heritage about author, decoy carver, hunter and Louisiana wetland aficionado, Charles W. Frank Jr. His book "Voices From The Bayou: An Oral History", was published in 2003, and intrigues me since I have recently read 2 Studs Terkel books, and his gift of drawing a persons life history and experiences from them in a fascinating fashion, and this seems to be in a siminlar vein. Problem is, I can't locate a copy on Amazon or ebay? Does anyone have an idea if its still being published?

February 2nd is World Wetlands Day celebrated to raise awareness of the importance of wetlands and the value they provide to us all. The theme for World Wetlands Day 2012 is "Wetlands and Tourism", focusing on the benefits tourism can bring towards making wetland conservation and sustainable use a reality.
