An update on the The Olentangy River Wetland Research (ORWRP) the research and teaching wetland park located at Ohio State University recently threatened with a natural gas pipeline. Due to outcry of the parks supporters the universities administration wisely shelved the plans to run a large natural gas pipeline under the wetland. This victory is important, but what makes me take a step back is the chutzpah of the administration to propose such a plan, knowing full well the reputation of the staff and the site. If this project can almost be railroaded through, how easily can projects elsewhere, without the resources and reputation of the ORWRP successfully fight a similar proposal?
